Expanding public transport to enable cross-regional travel is a climate-smart initiative, and we at Sigholm are proud to be part of this project. In 2023, we were commissioned by Trafikförvaltnigen (the Traffic Administration) to participate as environmental officers in the expansion programme for the cross-city light rail to Kista, within the Stockholm region.
Environmental requirements and notification cases
As an environmental officer in a climate-smart project, our role involves continuously monitoring compliance with established environmental requirements and managing interactions with regulatory authorities. Additionally, we are responsible for handling notification cases that arise within the programme. In our assignment, these cases particularly concerned contaminated soil (§28), the management of sulphide rock, dewatering, and work in environmentally sensitive water areas
Project Timeline
The expansion of the cross-city light rail will enable smart and seamless transfers within the region between the metro, commuter trains and buses. The section between Bromma Airport and Ursvik is currently on hold, and a new forecast is being prepared. A timeline for the section from Ursviks Torg to Helenelund will be established in 2025.
